My Dark Darlings!
You’re so lucky, you’re part of a blogging community which loves to cross-pollinate! Today #SoSS N0. 3, I’m sharing links for some of the blogs I’ve read and/or discovered this week. Different bloggers have variations of theme, but most of us have more than 1 string to our bow. I love writing erotica best of all, but also enjoy creating discussion pieces. Some bloggers – like Bondage God who I interviewed last week – build their blog pages on reviews of toys they buy or get sent to test. Use the #SoSS to search for other bloggers participating in the ‘big share’ of hot features you’ll be glad you read!
I’ve set out below some links you might like to investigate, then please get up-close and personal with Ella Scandal, a very professional but relatable blogger who I follow. I find her very inspirational and her erotic pieces are magma hot!!

What made you decide to write a sex blog?
There was no planning or forward thinking behind my decision to start a sex blog, it was very much a spur of the moment thing. I’d never really considered blogging before because I didn’t think I’d be any good at it, but after someone important to me died, I decided to take a chance. I talked to a sex blogging friend about blog names, and by tea time the next day I’d bought my domain. It was literally a case of ‘should I?’ on a Friday night, ‘oh go on then’ on the Saturday, and then the blog launched on the Tuesday.
What’s behind the title of your blog or your blogging “name”?
When my friend and I were throwing about blog names, everything we came up with seemed to be specific to sex toys. Even my partner’s suggestions were all toy related, so I said I’d have a think to see if I could come up with anything I liked. I slept on it and through the night I wrote ‘Scandarella’ on a piece of paper, along with a little note explaining that it’s a mash up of Cinderella and the word ‘scandal’.
Cinders is a subby gal, so I related to that, and my mother used to call me Cinderelly in my teens whenever whined that I was nothing more than her dish washing slave, so it has a personal connection, too. Scandal is a great umbrella word that covers all kinds of sex writing, so it seemed perfect. By switching Scandarella up a bit I even managed to get a pen name – Ella Scandal – from it.
Describe your blog in a nutshell:
Scandarella is a hive of many kinds of filth, lol. Almost all of my stories are loaded with graphic descriptions of sex or bondage scenarios, and I don’t shy away from piling intimate details into reviews, either.
How long have you been blogging on this theme?
Almost two years. I’ll be celebrating my second blogiversary in January 2018.
What is your favourite type of adult toy?
This is something that changes regularly, but right now I’m all about dildos. Shapes, textures, sizes, materials, temperatures, colours and designs. Vibrators can sometimes be much of a muchness, but you can find wildly different styles of dildo that can visually tickle fetishes and kinks as well as physically stimulating the body. I find them endlessly fascinating as well as sexually exciting.
If you were sent to a desert island (with no power issues) name the 1 adult toy you’d take with you:
I’d take my Doxy. Of all the sex toys I own, the Doxy is the only one that never ever fails to give me an orgasm. I don’t even have to be aroused for it to work, if it touches my clit and stays there I’m coming whether I like it or not. If I was stuck on an island on my own I reckon I’d have days where I did nothing but wank, just for something to do, so I’d need something with me that’s guaranteed to get me off.
What’s your current sexuality? At what age did you realise this was the right ‘fit’ for you?
I’ve always considered myself to be heterosexual, but this past year I’ve felt that changing. Now, I don’t just feel attraction towards men, I feel it for women, too. It’s a strange feeling, not because it’s not right or because I don’t want it, but because it’s something completely new to me. At my age, finding myself growing increasingly attracted to people I would never have looked at in a sexual way in the past is quite jarring. In a good way, of course, there’s nothing negative about it. I don’t know whether I’m ready to fly the bisexual flag just yet, but I’m definitely enjoying exploring that option in my head.
What’s your preference – naked or “dressed up” for sex? If dressed up, how so?
I’ve gained weight over the past couple of years and as the pounds have increased my confidence in my body has taken a nose dive, so I prefer to be naked. I know that probably sounds backward, and that folk would expect someone who feels the way I do to cover up, but for me, putting sexy lingerie onto a body I dislike feels like putting glitter on shit. It draws the eye and highlights all the parts I don’t want it to, so my oddball brain feels that the more I let my partner see, the less there is for him to look at.
Is there a kink or fantasy you’re yearning to try?
My most visited fantasy is probably a bit boring to some, but it would be sex with multiple men. One more, two more, ten more… the ratio of me to men isn’t important. It’s the idea of being used, overfilled, and overwhelmed by them until I no longer know if I want it or I don’t that has me panting after it. It’s definitely one that’ll remain a fantasy, though, cos my partner wouldn’t even entertain it.
Name the fictional being or species you’d most like to have an encounter with:
Vampires! Not the sparkly kind though, I couldn’t be doing with tortured tweens who spend their lives fighting their predatory natures. I’d want the danger. I’d want each encounter to be a brush with death, but I’d also want it to be filled with the wisdom and experience of centuries, and lust that’s fuelled by an unquenchable thirst. I think a mix of Louis de Pointe du Lac and Eric Northman with a bit of Luke Evan’s Dracula thrown in would be my perfect fictional fuck.
Anal sex – Meh or Yay?
Yay! I sometimes like anal penetration more than vaginal cos it’s far more intense. Also, I find I can have clusters of orgasms more often with anal, and when I think I’m done I can switch to vaginal and have a big finish via my g-spot. I usually need clit stim along with vaginal sex, too, but I often don’t for anal.
Sex needn’t always be serious – do you have a funny moment to share?
I’ve always been adept at falling off the bed during sex, but after we downgraded to a double bed from a super king it’s been ridiculous. The last time it happened I was trying to change position but totally missed the mattress and went flying. The clamps I was wearing were ripped off my nipples, I expelled a dildo, my butt made a noise that was more sonic boom than fart, and when I hit the floor and crashed into the cupboard a toy switched itself on and rattled half the street awake. Some might call that bad luck, but I call it Thursday, lol!
Sexting – love it or hate it?
I do it but I’m not a huge fan of sexting. That’s mostly because I’m frigging terrible for getting story inspiration from something one of us writes, and I get distracted from the task at hand. It happens with the spoken word, too, but in those situations, he’s there with me and doesn’t let my mind wander. With sexting I find myself going through the motions and then scribbling down story ideas while waiting for his replies. He can sometimes tell, and it ruins it for us both.
Which mainstream film depicts your favourite erotic scene?
Are y’all ready for some cheeze? You can find my favourite erotic scene in Dirty Dancing. There were a lot of sexy firsts in this scene for me. It wasn’t the first time I ever felt sexual arousal, but it was the first time I understood it for what it was. It was the first time I looked at a man’s body and saw defined muscles and hard lines rather than just a guy with no shirt on.
Teenaged me loved that Baby was certain enough of what she wanted to make the first move, and that Johnny had the maturity and patience to let her set the pace. That he let her explore him rather than just assuming control, which she totally would have let him do. As an adult, I prefer scenes where men are more aggressive, but this was my first introduction to on-screen sexiness, so it’ll always be my fave.
Do you watch porn?
Not very often. I really can’t abide the caterwauling that goes on in a lot of porn. It sounds fake and whenever I try to watch something with noisy folk in it I end up getting pissed off and hoping someone shows up with a gag. On the odd occasion I do watch it, it’s either gay porn, lesbian porn that’s made for women and not men, or Hentai. Gotta love them tentacles!
Nominate your favourite adult film:
I would if I had one, but I don’t.
A-ha! I used to hate this question cos I’d feel like choosing one blog was unfair to others that I love equally, but now I can answer. Rather than any one blog, I recommend anyone reading this gives Elust a visit.
Elust is a sex-based post digest compiled by Molly Moore of Molly’s Daily Kiss fame. Each month, loads of sex writers submit links to the Elust website, and once it goes live we all publish the finished digest in full on our own sites. You’ll find links to opinion pieces, sex education, kink education, erotic fiction and nonfiction, poetry, and images… basically everything but reviews.
If it’s reviews you’re after, clicking on the links in Elust will take you to blogs that may well offer reviews. From there you can scour their blogrolls or look out for links to memes like Masturbation Monday or Wicked Wednesday to find even more stuff… Elust is at the centre of a big ol’ web that connects us all together, and it’s a wonderful thing. Check it out!
Ella is on Twitter or visit Scandarella’s Blog – for the festive Season she’s calling herself Santarella!
Thank you so much for sharing with me and my Dark Darlings!
